Swelling after RT

Hi Guys I am new to the forum. I am 40 yrs old and diagnosed with Dupuytrens when I was 34-35. I have just finnished my RT on both hands in NOV 12 at Guildford (England) having funded it myself.
I had one nodule that was hard on my right hand and another that was difficult to work out whether it was a nodule or not.
On my left I had one in the same place as the difficult to distinguish nodule, and pain in the palm under my ring finger.
After RT it was apparent that the other nodules that I was unsure about were Dups as they became soft. The hard nodule is now soft at times but hard at other times. On my left hand though where the pain was swells up a bit, sometimes soft and sometimes harder. but feels like something is trying to happen. Does anyone else have the same going on ? and how long is RT active for? Or has mine not worked??

Kind Regards, Deciple.

Re: Swelling after RT

All I know that swelling is quite normal and to take something for it, some say they can get redness and their skin dries out. Perhaps just drop a call to the Dr and ask his opinion over the phone.
I have just had my phase one... so far so good, no side effects. I was warned off swelling etc... not to over do it with the hand, so at mo I am treating my hand like a baby, gently. But you say you had yours done in November, so make a that call.
Best of luck.

Re: Swelling after RT

I had RT 18 months ago and saw an effect on tightness and aching rapidly then a slower softening and regression of nodules over the following 6 months. However there are still periodic aches and pains depending on how much work in the garden I do or after going to the gym. I do try to protect the palms where the problem manifests itself for me. Increasingly active DD in my right hand seems to have coincided with increased ache in the treated hand.
