tenosynovitis

Has anyone here ever been diagnosed with tenosynovitis? Or any other kind of inflammation of the hand? I am searching for information for someone with Dupuytrens who, six months ago developed sudden onset, without injury, of index finger pain, swelling and redness. The finger is stiff in the morning, loosening up after use during the day. It is still sore, though. He also has pain in the palm near the pinkie area, with swelling after extended use of the hand.
This has been going on for over six months. Cortisone shots do not help. One physician diagnosed gout, although this is unlikely, given that it's in the hand and has been ongoing for so long.
Anyone have an ideas? Or, have any of you experienced this before?
Thanks so much for your help!!
