thanks for the update! i'm so glad you're feeling better. please keep us informed as to what you and your doctors uncover. perhaps ask them as well what they think about lecithin and vitamin e. i have been taking high doses of these for the past six weeks and have noticed an improvement in my knuckle pad.

Knuckle pad update:
The scars from the operation are barely visible. My fingers won´t bend to even 90 degrees now, however I´m still thankful that the pain is gone and can do my work farely normally. My twinsister´s operated fingers work much better and bend really well! The difference might be that she went to a private surgeon. In Finland there is no guarantees that the specialized hand surgeon (or other) will operate himself if not in a private clinic. It might actually be a student operating under the supervision of the "real" surgeon. Hmm, but as I was awake during the operation and saw a little bit, I do think that it was the specialist himself operating. Still, it´s a concerning issue. The sytostates that we are taking for arthritis and psoriasis seem to be working. I´m still considering different treatments for the Ledderhose. With the exception of these few medical backdraws, life is GOOD :) and I´m looking forward to going to Thailand in the fall and doing a dive master course!!

thanks for the update, dido, and good to hear you are as positive as ever.
i'm guessing you might be doing your diving course in koh tao, but i urge you to make some time to get over to koh phan gan and stay at the sanctuary. it is paradise found. i have a feeling you'll like it, and you will never forget it!

dido,
At this stage you should be using the adhesive wraps (like rubber bands) to force a fist with your hands. That is one of the most important procedures post surgery. You do it for about 10 minutes at a time and then realease the wrap and stretch your fingers. You need to do this several times a day. Your flexibility will improve greatly. It is extremely important to do this to break down the scar tissue. At the same time make sure your hand is thoroughly moistened with hand lotion.
