USvsFrance

I'd appreciate knowing if there is any difference between NA done at the clinic by the founder of NA Dr. Lermesiux or NA done by the doctors in the US who are most often mentioned in this forum--like Drs. Denkler, Eaton, Kline, Pess, etc. Are the Americans more aggressive, for example, and do they seem to have a better recurrence rate that the French? Or is NA the same everywhere. I'd like to know because I'd consider going to Paris/Gagny.
Thanks.

Re: USvsFrance

I am in the exact situation...I had one successful NA done in 2006, but the contracture came back in less than a year. Also planning a trip to France. Should I do it there? or re-do it here? I definitely don't want OS for now.

Re: USvsFrance

I originally had my first two procedures done by Dr Badois in Paris (one of the founders of NA with Dr. L) I have since had procedures by 2 American physicians who perform NA. I would say each one was good and careful. Neither was better or worse, just different. Most of them have gone to France and studied with Dr Badois and Dr L at the Institute. These seem to be really dedicated professionals and a pleasure to deal with. Best of fortune to you.

Re: USvsFrance

For US hand surgeons , NA is a very simple procedure, way beneath their skill level. Once they accept the validity of the patient feedback loop, their knowledge of the hand is vastly superior. I think it's safe to say the average US surgeon is more qualified that the average French NA practitioner. The American are more through, typically trying to break the cord at more places while the French tend to go for the Kill Shot. This could translate into the Americans being more "aggressive". By the same token, not even Eaton is going to catch Lermesiux and other Frenchmen for the number of NAs performed. Nevertheless, by bias is toward the Yanks.

There is no reason in my opinion to travel over seas if you have qualified people doing NA in your country. NA is not Rocket Surgery :-)
