Radiation Therapy in Ontario Canada
This is a great informative site. I was self diagnosed three weeks ago with DD in my right hand. This has been confirmed by my doctor on Oct 31, 2012. I have three nodules at the base of my small and ring fingers. My case is in stage N and I am an excellent candidate for RT. I understand from reading others in this forum that RT is not available in Ontario Canada and is also not covered by OHIP which is our health insurance.
Although my doctor understands DD , he is not up to speed with the potential of radiation therapy. When asked, he said that " RT is only available in the US. When contracture occurs we will send you to a plastic surgeon."
I have tried various Oncology departments in Ontario and I am not able to get through, even to ask the basic questions if they would consider such therapy. I see that the Princess Margaret Sarcoma clinic is listed on this site and I will try them again.
Is there anyone else from Ontario Canada who have any other ideas on bringing this therapy to Ontario or where they have tried so far?

Re: Radiation Therapy in Ontario Canada
I strongly recommend an experienced radiation therapy center; if you consider costs, a trip to Germany is probably cheaper and Dupuytren radiotherapy much more evolved in this country than in the USA. There are several people who have reported good service in Hamburg Strahlenzentrum, Erlangen and Frankfurt ....
All German centers have more tha 10 years experience !

Re: Radiation Therapy in Ontario Canada
Hi, I am from Canada too and haven't found any place where they would even answer me on the RT for Dup. I suspect that RT is reserved for cancer conditions. I went to Hamburg and was very happy about the profesionalism, experience and mostly, interest of prof S for this condition and associate conditions. I am just back from my second series and will probably have to return as all hands and feet do not evolve at the same rate and it would be difficult to justify a treatment based on traveling requirements more than medical timing requirements. But I guess i will monitor the progress of Hamburg's beautiful philarmonic orchestra building

Re: Radiation Therapy in Ontario Canada
I must have been mistaken, I can't find the link that I found the RT information. Maybe too much late night searching. I am hoping to go see Dr. Binhammer (Dr. Gan in London isn't accepting new patients) in the near future so I can ask him when I see him to clairify.
