Using local Oncologist for RT Newcastle under Lyme

Hi
I’m a 64 yr old woman and have recently been diagnosed with DD . My Dad had it and two if his fingers were bent and I also think an Aunt had it also.
Thankfully we have insurance through BUPA. I’ve seen a consultant who’s suggested RT might help . At the moment I’ve got two lumps in my palm , one of them appeared a couple of weeks ago.
He’s suggested that I see Prof Murray Brunt who is based locally in Staffordshire . He is a highly respected cancer specialist locally . Apparently he has an interest in DD also. However on this site I constantly see just the same few names of specialists in the field and I’m wondering if I should ask to see one if those ? Any opinions would be appreciated .

In the UK you probably see the names on here of the two Radiologists with private clinics, because in the past it has been so difficult to get RT on the NHS. ProfS in Germany is often mentioned since he was really one of the leaders in publishing use of RT for DD. You could check out the clinics listed on the BDS http://dupuytrens-society.org.uk/treatme...-organisations/.

I think I would ask his experience of treating DD with RT, and the protocol used - the dose, times, interval, etc, also when to treat and when not to treat, that might give some indications on whether he is a good choice.
