Trigger finger? or DD?
Hi all I have trigger finger in my second finger of the left hand. The tendons feel thick and have nodules and very different than on the right. I had the same thing in the same finger on the right hand which was surgically fixed about 9 years ago. Does anyone know if the condition “trigger finger” is the same as DD? Thank for any help on this – I am due to have cortisone injection 7th July and am not keen on this

trigger finger.
Hope I can help. The tendon that causes trigger finger is below the area of the DC. The DC is not due to a tendon. It is my understanding that DC is DNA predisposed. You will get it sometime. But, I have had 3 trigger fingers, and the last one I let go way too long. After I finally had the surgery on it ( which is a simple one) there was the cord of DC in my hand. Now, I notice, other tiny tiny nodules in my other hand, and I think I probably had that already in the hand with the trigger finger. I think the trama of the trigger finger did bring this out. It was already there, but it brought it out. I am beginning to think from reading on this forum, that people with DC also seem to tend to have other hand problems as well. I also think, that when I let the trigger finger go so long, it caused the DC to flare up and take over. The trigger finger is gone now, but the DC is here to stay. If you have more questions on treatment of the DC check out www.handcenter.org. Hope I helped Patty

tendon
I need to say again, the Dupuytren's is Not the Tendon. The trigger finger IS the tendon. The tendon for trigger finger is Below that. The nodules and cords for DD are above the tendon in the hand.

trigger finger/dupuytens
Diagnosed with trigger finger/dupuytrens. Orthopaedic has suggested open release for trigger finger. Not triggering yet, just painful and unable to bend middle finger all the way and unable to make a fist. Looks as if cord may be moving into same finger and that could be causing problem with tendon or the cause of swelling?
Anyone have any experience with percutaneous trigger finger release in lieu of open release? Worried that open release for trigger finger release may cause more aggressive result with dups?
I am located in Richmond, Virginia.

Hi Kids.. When I saw Dr. Eaton, I had a tendon in my wrist that he snipped.....He said, often people with D.D. HAVE A DOUBLE SET OF TENDONS.....just passing the imfo. on to others..Always check with DR.
