Dupuytren~sq~s and injury

Randy H.
I thought the discussion was the correlation of injury (not surgery, there is a difference) and the onset of Dupuytren's. There are dozens of studies verifying the correlation on PubMed. It is not a controversy. There is no reason to continue saying that there is no correlation.
Thanks for the sales pitch, however.

DC brings it on

I don't know what all the hype is about, but , I will tell you, I do believe, some of us are pre disposed to this disease, and, I belive, if you have other hand problems, either injury or other ( IE trigger finger or carpal tunnel) It can bring this on. I have had Several things happen to my hands, as I am very active with my horses. It started with one trigger finger, that led to two more. After the last one that I let go for MONTHS, I was left with a cord in the hand. Then, I got a nail punture wound on the same hand. I had complications with that, and had to have surgury, 3 weeks ago, to clean that out on the top, of the same hand. Low And Behold...after that little surgery, I had a whole NEW KNOT in the hand, extending from the cord. Right After the surgery.
Now, I have no doubt, that I have this DC in my system, but, I also have no Doubt, that injurys and surgery on the hand, can bring this forth with a vengence.
Seems that , everything I do now, makes it worse. But, I did not have this take over, until I let the last trigger finger go WAY PAST where I should, before having it taken care of. The trauma from that, left me with the cord. Same hand, same finger.
I am sure, it would have shown up at some point, but, my experience tells me, injury , and trama, brings it up to the forfront, and it takes over.
I know many people think, that no one in their family has ever had it....guess again.. Who would have KNOWN they had it? It was unheard of. I can almost remember my father telling us he had trouble with his hands. That was there, somewhere. There was just no name for the problem, and , no one knew what it was.
If this keeps progressing, I am taking my trip to Florida. I have had several hand surgeries for other things, and , I will Not have that done for this. I am still recovering from the nail puncture surgery, and, I had an Orthopedic man do it, and I have no feeling in that area of my hand. I think, he screwed my nerves up. NO MORE OF THIS !
