I just got back from Dr. Badois in Paris on Tuesday. He told me that trauma or injury may very well be the cause of dupuytren's, if the tendency is there.

I am so glad I chose NA, even though I was told it will come back, maybe 8 months, maybe 3 years. Have a very acute case of it. Dr. Badois is very personable and entertained any and all questions I had. The procedure took 30 minutes and about 8 needles. A bandage was worn 3 days, then I took it off - nothing else was recommended by Dr. Badois. No splint, or medication, or lotion. I had no pain, and even though my little finger is not as perfect as years ago, it is almost straight and my palm can lay flat on a table top. I will go back in a second, should it recur.

I paid 180 Euros, about $200. My ticket was $540 and my hotel was $90 a night AND I got to see Paris. From what I read that would be just a bit more than Dr. Eaton charges. Of course he has the added expense for malpractice insurance. My opinion is that Drs. in the States prefer surgery because there they can SEE what they are doing, whereas Dr. Badois was working by feeling. The risk is obvious higher that way. My confidence came from the years of this Dr's. experience in doing the procedure.

One piece of advise - if you have NA, do it at 30 to 35 degree curvature. I waited until 90 degrees and was lucky it turned out as good as it did. Best of luck to all. Traudl
