Collagenase Stanford Clinical Trials

Just received call from Dr. Hentz office informing me the funding for trials has been approved and the study will begin in 2 or 3 months...and to confirm I am still available and interested...I am not going to hold my breath, but I am very hopful. The call has made my day...

As a patient who has had both traditional surgery and NA.

Collagenase Stanford Clinical Trials

I believe this forum site is hosted by Biospecifics, one of there products which has been in development for several years, "Collagenese" and has had two clinical trials....this is necesary in order to be approved by the FDA...very costly process.

More than 3 years ago, (after my first traditional surgery) by Dr McCoy....awesome surgeon...he got me in contact with Dr. Heize at Stanford Medical clinic. Stanford in Calif. one of two location, the other Stoneybrook in I believe it's NY.

Collagenase has proved sucessful in breaking down the DC cord...I don't have all the fact on this...I only know prior to NA it seem a great alternative to being cut....I still believe it holds great promise...

Up until today, the rumors have been many...biospecifics running out of money, trials being dead etcertra....

Having said that, the phone call from the doctors office, stating the trials are on is good new...and felt that those which have been following the progress of this drug may find this news exciting....please check out old posts regarding Collagenese...

NICE guidance IPG0043

Thanks for the update.

I'd like to be more enthusiastic, but these trials have been just around the corner for the last 5 years - on again, off again - and even if they really do get going this time, real availability is still years in the future.

But I read that BioSpecifics has essentially turned over the product to new ownership and maybe they'll have the funds and the will to see it through.
