    My grandfather [died 1973]had a far more severe case of Dupuytren's than any web photo online shows, both hands ,and they [VA hospital, FL]SEVERED THE TENDONS SO HE COULD HOLD A CUP AND SILVERWARE, JUST ABOUT.
    I AM WONDERING IF MINE GETS THAT BAD DO WE HAVE THE OPTION OF FINGER TRANSPLANTSS SHOULD ALL ELSE FAIL?
    Has anyone had prostheses?
    there seem to be more of us than they think, I BET MANY JUST THINK THEY HAVE ARTHRITUS LIKE MY DOCTOR, UNTIL I RECENTLY MENTIONED DUPUYTRENS.

    i just lost 1/2 of an index finger, is a finger transplant from a donor possible?

    A finger transplant is very unlikely. I don't know anyone who would do that procedure. The risks markedly outweigh the benefits.
