NA
NA is an abreviation for needle aponevrotomy. For a complete description of the procedure refer to the web address in an earlier posting of this topic. It is practiced in several European countries and maybe in Canada, but the developers of the procedure and those with the most experience are French.

Update
In a day or two it will be six months since I had NA by Dr Lermusiaux in France. There has been no reoccurence of DC on my hand and my fingers remain unbent. In fact the nodules which were there are gone but a slight swelling of the skin, about 3/4 inch in diameter, has appeared where they were. Has anybody else had a similar thing happen to them?

nodule improvement - Harold~sq~s question
I've had NA four times on each hand. Mine grows back in 6 months - a problem with an aggressive case of DC, not with the NA procedure. I've found that the nodules in the palm tend to soften somewhat after the cords have been cut. On the down side, when the cord growth picks up speed again, it actually wakes me up in the middle of the night with dull stabbing pains. Kristen
