Non-Surgical Cure ?
Hope you can help!
I’m new to the Dupuytren's Forum, but not to Dupuytren's that showed up about 10 years ago. Had surgery on my left hand 2 years ago but Dupuytren's is now back in the L hand worse than ever. So I know from experience surgery is only a stopgap.
I know about the French Needle so I am very interested in info about non-surgical cures. Question:
1) Are there any legit non-surgical cures? Who and where? 2) Is the SUNY Stony Brook cure near going public? Any info on the status? 3) Are there any doctors (or anyone else) doing injections? Who and where?
Please help with any info you have. I don’t want any more surgery!
Thanks.

Dr.Hentz
Dr.Hentz is a fine doc. He will come through for us one day. I know he will. Someday soon this Dupuytren's Disease will be a thing of the past. Every hand doc will have a shot for you. No more contractions. What a hopeful future we have. Cheers to all.

Dr. Hentz test results
I was told injectable collagenase is in stage four trials. Are we talking about the same thing? Wouldn't the Home Page of this forum trumpet any major announcements of DC treatment? Where ARE we in the treatment/cure search in the UNITED STATES (outside of Florida!)

Investors aren~sq~t biting.
Randy, There are many reasons not to invest in Biospecifics if a person is an investor.
1) Return on equity .... -77.9% 2) Return on assets .... -43.0% 3) Revenue growth ...... -50.3% 4) Book value .......... 0.52/share 5) Cash flow .......... negative
With the above in mind, they compensate their 83 year old CEO (Ed Wegman) $405K/year and Thomas Wegman 205K/year. Also, they basically have only one customer for their products and that is Abbot Labs. These are the main complaints from investors/speculators.
At this time the stock is considered less than investor grade by most.

Stanford Tests
I was part of the study at Stanford with Dr. Hentz three years ago - an offshoot of the Stoneybrook trials. The good news is that the injection works - it reduced my contraction from 60 degrees to 0. The bad news is 1), it returned in a year, and 2) it only worked where they could "manipulate" the joint (break the contracture). In other words, if you have DC in the palm of your hand, they are unable to "manipulate" a non-joint occurance and my experience has been (with the Stanford trials and three hand surgeries in the past five years) that if you don't get it all it will come back. While I was part of the study I questioned Dr. Hentz and his assistant, Carolyn Gordon, on the feasibility of non-joint treatment. Neither one was optimistic that treatment on a non-joint nodule would be available anytime soon. Hang in there fellow DCers. Richard
