positive thought

Jan:

Good thought! It's refreshing to see a posting that contributes a positive suggestion about dealing with the issue on a day to day basis. (Now, let's not get too carried away -- I don't want to give up all the good stuff in my daily diet.) I'd like to hear some thoughts from others about diet, diet supplements, etc., that have had a positive impact -- recognizing that this is different with each of us.

Different Topic

Jan and TM,

While I share your concerns that diet is an important topic not only for DC suffers but everyone in general, I think that discussion would be better relegated to a separate topic. This topic concerns the discussion of NA.

Kudos to Kristen

Hi Kristen, great posts. Unfortunately, Gary in his singlemindedness/stubbornness/inflexibility will not be deterred. It may be that new comers to the board will have to be warned so that they are not influenced by someone with an agenda that is not in the interest of the Dupuytren's afflicted. Gary is kind of like the Rush Limbaugh of our board.

Dupuytren~sq~s Disease Preface (Raoul Tubiana, 2000)

Interesting comment by Tubiana in preface of Tubiana's(et al) book, Dupuytren's Disease (2000).

"The progress in our knowledge of the nature of collagen in Dupuytren's disease, in particular, has permitted two of the authors of this book to embark on the use of local injections of Clostridial collagenase, resulting in the lysis of the collagen cord and so allowing its rupture. The results of this method have been spectacular according to both the authors and patients. Can one therefore say that surgery will be totally abandoned? This will depend on the results of current clinical research, which will define the limits of medical treatment by eventual contraindications, by its efficacy in the presence of longstanding joint contractures and by its preventative effect on recurrence.
It appears that we are now close to solving a problem that has impassioned generations of researchers and surgeons."

He (Tubiana) indicates that there is considerable research being presently done on Dupuytren's Disease.

Gary

I believe Gary's title should best be referred to as the SURGEON GENERAL of DUPUYTRENS.

Hello Mike.K.
I wonder what made you decide to go to another doctor the second time.
Could you give me dr.rapapport's contact details? I live in Italy and Switzerland would be closer for me.

I anone aware of NA being performed in Italy?
Thanks for reply and best regards,
Tony

NA

Tony,

My treatment required more than one visit. Dr. Badois only schedules one visit every five days, whereas, Dr. Rappoport scheduled visits every day until treatment was completed. It was solely a matter of time management.

Dr. Rappoport can be reached at:
