Google
Dear Russell,
Welcome to the website. Information about shoulder problems, particularly Frozen Shoulder as it relates to Dupuytren's can be found by googling the two words together.
ie: Frozen Shoulder Dupuytren's Contracture
You will find a wealth of information about how the two can be related. You will also find information on excercises on how to maintain good shoulder health. I strongly recommend considering a daily excercise routine for your shoulders so you and your brother do not get it. What I *can* say about the excercising my own FS is that it reduces the pain - Perhaps this is the ticket you both of you?
Anyways, good luck to both of you and once again, welcome.
Frances

Shoulder pain
Russel,
I should mention, the best treatment for shoulder pain is given by Yogiraj Bikram Choudhury. I strongly support Yogiraj Bikram Choudhury. I hope you will take his fine advice. He will not mislead you.

Get a life
Buddy, I don't know who you are, or why you keep making these posts about a yogi under Frances's name but you are not impressing anyone. Like someone else said, 'It's old and boring'.

Lederhoses Disease
Frances, I googled like you told me and found information I was looking for. Thank You. At the bottom of the page I was reading it made a comment about frozen shoulder and "Lederhoses Disease" being related to DC. It said Lederhoses affects the penis. This made me nervous, I have no problem now but will this make my penis as deformed as my hands if I get it?

Peyronies
Dear Russell,
Breath deaply. Having DC does not mean you will get Peyronies. Personally I know very little about it so it's best to do more googling for further information.
Biospecifics also has a Forum for Peyronies patients, but it can get pretty 'out-there' because of the underlying frustration with their condition.
Take care,
Glenda

shoulder pain
Forget the Biospecifics Peyronie's forum - it's flooded with crackpots and misinformation. If you're a male with Dupuytren's there's a chance you'll get Peyronie's. As with many things in life, there is nothing you can do to prevent it so put it out of your mind unless/until it actually happens. If you don't have it now, and you do get it in the future, there may be an effective treament at that time.

shoulder pain
Sometimes shoulder pain and the lessening of ability to fully raise the arm is the result of sleeping on one's side on too flat of a pillow.

exercise
I have had frozen shoulder, encapsulitis, twice: once in each shoulder. On the first one, spent many hours and thousands of dollars on supervised exercises from physiotherapists; a complete waste of time and money. With the second frozen shoulder, I skipped the therapy and the FS went away just as quickly as it had the first time. The only thing that ever helped either shoulder was swimming, preferably in the ocean. I always felt better, and had more mobility, after swimming.
