second hand struck!
My right hand developed D in February and now, the end of June, the left hand has a nodule. Is this the usual course of events? I stopped taking calcium and CosaminDS 2 weeks ago when I read several messages. I've tried 8 acupuncture treatments on the right hand and all to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions?

Dupuytren~sq~s disease in both hands
I have Dupuytren's disease in both hands. Six months ago Dr. Eaton did NA on my left hand. My right hand has two big nodules but my fingers on that hand are still straight. Lynne, my advice is to get to Dr. Eaton as soon as you can. He will straighten your finger in short order. Go to http://www.handcenter.org/newfile16.htm and make an appointment.

DR. EATONS WEB SITE
Hi Lynne Last year I investigated perhaps using acupuncture to perhaps help my DP in my finger. The acupuncture doctor told me it would be just a waste of money trying this. I am back from the Hand Clinic where yesterday I had needle aponeurotomy for my Dupuytren's finger contraction. The tight chord in the palm of my hand was entered through six needle incisions and severed by the tip of a small needle. As this chord is severed, it felt to me like the snipping away of a rubber band as tension is released. Under the local anesthesia, I felt no pain and only very mild discomfort as Dr. Eaton manipulated my hand. Before the NA my small finger had contracted > 145 degrees, and after it is about 70 degrees. I have a splint to wear while sleeping, a simple hand therapy exercise to do daily and will return in three months to Jupiter for another session to see if we can further reduce the contraction. All in all, the procedure was highly successful while avoiding the dangerous and often debilitating open hand surgery for this "Viking" disease.
