Finding a Needle Aponevrotomy Doctor
I have just been diagnosed with Dupuytren's Disease (last week) and would like to know of the nearest doctor who treats with Needle Aponevrotomy. I have a small lump in my left palm about an inch below my 2nd finger. I live near San Francisco and Palo Alto, CA I will appreciate any information you can send me. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Sally Candiano

Finding a NA Dr.
Sally, If all you have is a lump in your hand, you are a long ways from needing a Dr. Unless you have a pronounced contraction of the fingers, either curliing of the fingers or at the a contraction causing the finger to bend at the knuckle, you don't need NA as yet. In fact I doubt that Dr. Eaton in Florida or any of the Dr's in Paris will treat you until it reaches that point. I have had a lump in my left hand for years and so far nothing has become of it. My right hand is another story, but again, if all you have is a lump, be thankful. Keep checking this forum and hope that you never need NA or anything else.
Len

Dr.Helena Spacek
It is so good to hear about all the people that are having good experiences getting their hands mended with the doctors in Europe and Florida but I have yet to see any feedback about the doctor in Montreal. Does anyone have anything to relate ? Does she accept patients from other provinces? Are there any restrictions? Any information would be appreciated as I would like to make a decision about were I go and who I am going to see. Thanks David

Restrictions
Call her office to confirm but I think someone said she will not see patients outside her province to to restrictions on her malpractice insurance.

Hi George,
I don't know of any Certified Hand Surgeons in the LA area that do NA.
Your closest choice is in Marin County:
Dr. Keith Denkler, 275 Magnolia, Larkspur, CA 94939, Phone: 415-924-6010 e-mail: info@aestheticsurgery.com
My understanding is that although Dr. Denkler is a plastic surgeon he has had extensive hand experience and so became a Certified Hand Surgeon as well.
Best of luck to you!
Susan
