Any info on skin grafts welcome
Hi, I have just had stitches and cast removed from skin graft surgery. It was or is almost last resort before I lose a finger or two. Things look good or atleast favorable healing and such. I am a bit afraid because most things I have tried havn't been with a good result. Went with 2 surgerys before I saw the NA procedure I didn't even have a computer (sister is a nurse) thought her sugestions were best "Not"! to late for right hand now. My ring finer seems to be contracting at about 40% in less than 48 hrs. It probably to be expected but it is creeping me out. Has anyone had this done? Or have any first even second hand knowledge of skin grafts? As I said it is was to late for needle procedure. I was living on what ifs? doesn't help water over the dam thing Linda

Skin Graft
Linda, I'm sorry I can't answer your questions but I am also facing skin graft surgery to try and correct a 90 degree contracture in my little finger. A previous surgery resulted in heavy scar tissue so I was unable to have the NA procedure done.
I am extremely interested to hear whether there is any chance of long term improvement before I proceed with the skin graft. The last surgery on this finger had a very painful and complicated recovery so I'm a little nervous to try something more radical, although I am reaching a point with no other good options.
If you or anyone else has any information or would like to share your thoughts on skin grafts I would love to hear it. Thanks.

~dq~Skin Gafts~dq~
After a bad surgery on my right hand and a large scar tissue problemn i had a second surgery to correct it which included 2 skin grafts. They took the skin graft from my wrist one part was used in my palm the other in my little finger. This was a better experance than the first surgery i had a block and was talking with the DR through the whole procedure which was cool as he talked me through the whole thing found a nerve that had been cut repaired it and we just hoped it would take. It did not tottally but i got a lot of feeling back. As for the skin grafts they are doing great healing went well and the weird part is it took longer to get full extenchen in my wrist than in my hand. i ahve since had surgery on my left hand which sucked and NA on my right thumb which was great. Good luck with it choose carefully and just go with the flow as it took way less time for the skin grafts to heal than the original surgery. PS the skin grafts were over 7yrs ago i'm an ironworker and i put my hands to the test every day have DC in my fingers and thumbs on both hands so i do understand your worries.
