any news?

I am scheduled for NA with Dr. Eaton on Friday. I emailed, but didn't get a response. Does anyone know about the status of his office, power, etc down there? I know the airport is still closed, but haven't heard of any considerable damage so I assume I can get there on Thurs. If my hotel got blown away, I figure I can find another that didn't. If I don't find out anything before tomorrow, I will try to call. I'm very nervous anyway, and not knowing the status makes it worse! Thanks if you have any info. Sherry P.S. Sorry about the misspelling...hopefully, I will type better after NA!! :)

Hi Sherry,
I was sad to see that no-one has replied to your request for help. I have been on the web and looked up the weather in Florida. This is the web page
http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=topNews&storyID=2005-10-25T134238Z_01_KNE417919_RTRUKOC_0_UK-WEATHER-WILMA.xml
Sorry it's so long but if you cut and paste you should get the info.
Sounds to me that all the power lines are down. Perhaps you should keep phoning until Thursday and if no reply rethink your trip. It is not worth putting yourself at risk.
Good luck,
Marjorie UK

Sherry - I would think that your appt. would go as scheduled. However, I live 40 miles north of Eaton and know that Wilma hit harder than expected. Although Dr. Eaton is undoubtedly not standing on the roof of his flooded house waiting for a helicopter pickup, it's quite possible that the lack of power could be a problem. I got power back today, but his area was hit a bit harder. I seriously doubt that his office or your hotel were blown away - it's not that bad, but if you can't make contact via phone or email before you fly, you may want to reschedule - as for being nervous - don't bother -- I've had NA every 6 months for the past 5 years from 3 french doctors and Dr. Eaton - it's no big whoop, believe me. (No, you won't have to come back in 6 months - I have an aggressive case - not at all typical.) Good luck. Kristen
