are these useful?

Who has thoughts on kenalog injections for nodules in the palm? They are described as useful but I wonder if they just shrink the nodule and if so, does that have any effect in stalling the progress of the disease?

Kenalog

Hi Diane

Kenalog will shrink a nodule or will make it disappear altogether. Shrinking at least arrests the onward progression of the nodule and mostly for a considerable length of time. Some report no improvement or change in the nodule but i think that is rare.
I have had excellent results and I'm so pleased I embarked on this regime.
Dr's Eaton, Denkler, Badois etc, use it frequently, so it must be considered well worth the treatment.

kenalog to treat nodules

Does anyone know if these treatments of kenalog for nodules are available in the Los Angeles area? Dr. Benhaim perhaps? I don't remember Dr. Denkler mentioning kenalog when he did my NA recently, or if he did, I was too excited about getting the procedure done and getting my finger straight, and was not worrying about the nodules at that time.

I have a few nodules on palm, so I am really interested in this, now that I am done with the NA.

nodules

Graeme mentions that Dr. Eaton is among those who uses kenalog frequently. That may be the case but when I had NA from him in Feb. 05 he did not use it. My ring and pinky went from 30 degrees to flat but the nodules in the palm did not shrink with a cortisone injection. I'm certainly interested in kenalog with any future NA procedure either from Dr. Denkler or locally with Dr. Benhaim.

Kenalog

Hi LubaM

you could go to a number of medicos to have these shots. It might mean a bit of digging around but not that difficult. I keep a supply of Kenolog in my fridge - given by my local MD, then I take vials to either a podiatrist or a orthopeadic surgeon to have these shots when necessary.
