Results after NA for nodules

I was so excited about the release of my finger, I neglected to ask Dr. Eaton about the nodules. He did inject cortisone and say the nodules might "just disolve." I'm curious about results others have had with nodules after NA. Also, I recall reading on a DC website (not sure if it was Eaton's or not) that stretching of the hand could actually accelerate DC. I was given instructions to stretch my hand after the NA and didn't think to ask about possibilities of accelerating DC in the future. I will ask these questions when I call this week to report in but I'd like feedback from others.

What Works

Darris, my fellow Eatonite,

The one out of two nodules Eaton shot with cortisone has continued to shrink with less pain for the last 3 weeks. It is becoming a non-factor. Why he didn't inject a larger nodule that was unassociated with a conrtacture is still a mystery. He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to miss a stitch (unless you consider he hasn't done much OS stitching since this site changed his practice some 18 months ago.)

Frankly I'm going to call and find out what cortisone he uses and see if my local CHS will use it where Eaton didn't. Like you, I'm so grateful about what he did do that I'm hard pressed to complain about what seems to be an oversight. And, I suspect my local guy will refuse to inject cortisone, in spite of the amazing results I've hand from Eaton. Generally, you don't tell a CHS what to do.

Strange and mysterious. The actual practice of Medicine is an "Art", in spite of all the need for scientific Data. For me, the cortisone worked like a Big Dog. So I say "Shoot 'Em Up".

You want to "exercise" the hand by simply opening and closing with full range of motion. Don't stretch it all out of whack.

nodules

I had NA from Dr. Eaton on 2-11-05. He injected the nodule between the ring and pinky with cortisone but I think if anything it's actually grown in size. I'm due to send him the 3 month follow up pics next week and I'll ask his advice.
