Splint

I recently had a successful NA job by Dr. Eaton. I'm wearing a splint at night upon his recommendation for the next three months. No problem. He said it might add a bit more straightness to my finger. Has anyone worn a splint and if so what degree of correction, if any, have you had with it?

My splint was associated with a fasciectomy. I think the importance is for the surrounding tissues to get adjusted to the finger being straight. After having adjusted to the slow contraction fro Dupuytren's your palm and fingers need assistance to adjust to rapid change of the procedure (whether NA or surgery). In my case it was extremely helpful along with hand exercise.

Splint

I had NA from DR Eaton on my little finger about a year and a half. I wore a night splint for three months. It helped straighten my finger and it added strenght to the finger. The finger was pretty straight right after the procedure. Splinting it probably added a few degrees. It is as straight as my other fingers now.

Splints

I have had at least seven fasciectomy (NA is not indicated for me) for DC (as well as a couple of broken bones). I have always worn a night splint for weeks to months after the surgery. Also day splints, blocking splints and a few other instruments of torture designed by my hand therapist, Mistress Anne.

Fingers alwasy end up straight, with full mobility and strength.
