bump on top of hand
I was recently diagnoised with dupuytren's disease. I am 58yrs old and don't know of anyone in my family having this disease. The doctor I saw said I have a 50/50 chance of surgery in the future. After seeing him a month ago I have noticed a lump on the top on my hand between index and middle finger. It is sore to the touch and thought I may have bumped it but am now wondering if it's related the DC? Anyone ever heard of this? Thanks

bump on top of hand
Gina,
As far as I've ever heard or read, Dups tissue appears *only* on the palm, not the back of the hand. Also, your doctor is thinking of Open Surgery as the *only* treatment available, which is no longer the case. When you put NA into the mix of treatment options, your chance of needing OS at some point in the future is more than likely *greatly* reduced.
Sorry to have to welcome you to this site, but you will find it of great help>

bump on top of hand
i have a brother with a bump as you mentioned, my mother also had a bump in exactly the same place. Since my brother doesn't believe in doctors, i just have to assume it's a genetic abnormality. I have self diagnosed Dupuytren extention, and as a piano player it's not fun. I'm 65 and hace notived this condition for about a year.
