cramping when holding something or doing repetitive motion

I have DC in both hands and feet. I have had surgery on my little finger right hand and ring finger on my left. I now have it in my index fingers and some in my thumbs. I find that if I hold something in my fingers my hands start to cramp. If I massage my wife’s feet they will cramp bad real quick. If I use a tool like a screwdriver or ratchet or even put bolts in with my fingers after a minuet or so they start to cramp so bad I have to stop. My surgeons never told me about this part and I don’t hear others talking about it much. The surgery helped my hands but this cramping stops me from doing things I used to do.
