info request

Hi. My name is Phil and i am currently researching dupuytren's disease for my occupational therapy degree dissertation. I also have the early stages of the disease myself, as do both of my parents so you can see my interest!
I am having some difficulty in getting info on the physical and psychological effects that dupuytren's has on people so i'm hoping to get some feedback from you out there.
Any info regarding the disease itself and, if you recieved occupational therapy, how you feel/felt about the ot process as well as you surgeons opinion of same would be greatly appreciated.
thank you in advance and i will try to reply to all responses.
thanks again, Phil.

Therapies

Hi Phil,

there are several proven therapies, though not all of them are available everywhere. Of course, there are also even more therapies being researched. You can find an overview on both on our web site www.dupuytren-online.info.

By the way: we will soon add another page on our web site dedicated to needle aponevrotomy (NA). We feel that this therapy ought get more attention on our web site. But you can find a lot of info on NA in this forum and in www.dupuytren.org.

The Florida Hand Center site lists a wealth of literature, specifically on its FAQ page http://www.handcenter.org/newfile25.htm
Just scroll down towards the end of this page and you will find tens, if not hundreds of citations. Good stuff for a dissertation.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a mail. Also, should you find interesting pablications or promising therapies then it would be great if you would send me a mail, too!

Good luck!

Wolfgang
