is this consistent with Dupuytren's
I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED AS HAVING DUPUYTREN’S. HOWEVER, I DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE EXTERNAL SIGNS ON THE PALM OF MY HAND. THE RING FINGER DOES CONTRACT, AND WITH EFFORT AND VARY DEGREES OF PAIN I CAN STRAIGHTEN IT OUT. THE PAIN IS MOST SEVERE AT NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING. HEAT SEEMS TO LESSEN THE PAIN. DURING THE DAYAND AFTER MUCH USE THE FINGER IS MUCH BETTER AND THE PAIN IS MUCH LESS. I QUESTION WHETHER THIS IS CONSISTENT WITH DUPUYTREN’S. ANY THOUGHTS.

many reasons
There are many possible reasons for contracted fingers and what you describe doesn't sound very typical for Dupuytren's disease. I never heard of anyone who had Dupuytren's contraction without a significant cord or nodule involved. But online diagnosis is dangerous, a second opinion might make more sense.

See a regular doctor to verify your condition. But resist when they send you to a surgeon for hand surgery. There are several GREAT choices for Dupuytrens in the United States. You'll find their names on this website.

sounds like you might have trigger finger to me.....that is with the tendon....do some research on the net and you might find your symptoms correspond with trigger finger.
