My hand is almost closed @ 51 and was told 6 years ago surgery wasn~sq~t a good option,

Well I live in the wetern sid of the nation and was hoping someone had a good idea. I sure would love to use my hand again. I first noticed my node back in 1978 at a ripe young ageof 25 . I worked thru the inconvience of working wir=th my hands and learned to cope with the contracture. I finale had surgery in 1989 and had large pockets from the surgery and had lots of recovery time wasn't able to work for over 4 months.. The contracture came back with vengence and has since taken over my left hand to the point that my little finger is not able to be opened beyond the 60 degrees, and my ring finger is about 90 degrees. I have recently noticed nodes forming between my index finger and my thumb.
So to make a long story short, I was told back in 99 to wait for the colanagese.. So what are my options???

Options

Collegenase is still some years off. Meanwhile a new procedure, NA, ("new" only in relative terms to traditional surgery) does exactly the same thing mechanically that Collegenase does chemically.

read the thread : "Treatment by Dr. Eaton"

You may be a candidate for this option.

You need to see and read as much as you can find about the needle apoeurotomy. The following web page is good.
Web page www.local6.com
click on site/keyword at top left of page, type in dupuytrens contracture, click search. There is only one result so click on that and you will get all the details.
Also, www.handcenter.com is full of information which you will find useful.
Hope this helps.
