Dr. Lermusiaux
Being a personal friend of Ron James(see below) I too visited Dr.Lermusiaux in November last year for my Bi Lateral DC. 2 consecutive visits of 30 mins.i.e. 1 hand each day and 120 euros for the both prceedures and I walked away with straight hands. Although not 100% they are close enough to call perfect. My right middle finger was at stage 3 or about 70 degrees and the little finger was also bad. The left ring finger was at stage 2. The doctor was extremely helpful and I recomend him to all. Best done in the early stages. Now I won't mind if it does return, just another trip tp Paris!

At last there is needle aponeurotomy in Australia!
I had the worst case you can get in my little finger. I went to see Mr David Hunter Smith in Mornington (about an hour's drive from Melbourne) and within a few minutes I have a straightened finger! It is now a month later and I am so very pleased with the way it has healed. Several years ago I went to see Dr Badois in Paris. He was terrific too. But the finger kept on curling up. Now at least with someone nearby we can go and get a simple treatment every couple of years. Mr David Hunter Smith is a Plastic Surgeon who is very familiar with Dupuytrens. He can also perform the standard treatment. Can't recommend him too highly. It was almost fun! Best contact is probably through his personal assistant Kate Jennison at info@plasticsurgery.com.au.

Down Under
John,
Good on you mate :)
Congrats on finding Assise NA. Where was David Hunter Smith trained?
(Yes, personally, when I compare NA with Open Surgery, it *is* like a trip to Surgical Disneyland)

Great News from John
Great Stuff John!
When I contacted Dr Hunter Smith in May last year he said he had not visited the French team but planned on doing so either later last year or some time this year (2006).
I sincerely hope he has been to France so we can have confidence in his training, albeit the results for you John seem to indicate a level of expertise has been gained.
This is fantastic news especially as I have another nodule forming on my middle finger Left Hand (Most disappointing after such great success previously) with attendant thickening of chord...so travelling to Mornington Peninsular is certainly better than Florida!
Did you try claiming on any insurance? I think Medibank Private would be interested in knowing Dr Hunter Smith is now doing NA.
Another step forward in treating this insidious disease, now all we need is someone to come up with a preventative cure!

Has anyone got any answers to the questions posted in response to Johns listing? Also has any one else been to this doctor or contacted him?

Dr Hunter-Smith
I contacted Hunter-Smith's surgery a couple of weeks ago. A secretary advised that the Dr had not been to France yet. She gave me (a rough guide only), of Aus $400 per proceedure.
