Pain

I am still in pain after more than four months. My hand still is not straight. My little finger won't bend or straighten. I have been two three different pain management clinics and the drugs they have prescribed and the surgical blocks I have had all have not responded to the pain.

I am seeing a hand surgeon tomorrow at Stanford who specializes in this disease and another hand surgeon at another med. center.

I have now been diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, formerly called RSD. The pain has completely affected my entire life.

I believe the cause is nerve damage from the original surgery. and that there is scar tissue impinging upon a nerve.

I would welcome any responses from those who have had similar problems with any solutions you have come up with. The pain management docs have said that if I have additional surgery, my pain could become even worse.

help !

Pain

I expected as much and haven't had the surgery done. I acutely remember the the pain associated with knee surgery, hip surgery, and a broken ankle and want nothing like it. Also one or more bodily functions won't take a vacation because one hand's in a bandage.
