Dr Denkler TV appearance

Do we know if Dr Denkler's appearance will be on cable or 'free to air' television?
I feel strongly that there should be lots of tapes or CD's made of this upcoming programme and circulated so as members of this site can show their local surgeons.
My surgeon is such a doubter that it is a safe proceedure.
In the meantime I'm getting a copy of Walt's CD on his proceedure in Paris.

Curling again

Dear Mark,

Sorry to hear your hands started curling again. Can you give us some specifics about your case?

ie: Your age, the age of onset, severity of contition, does your family have a history of Dup and if 'yes' did they have surgery? If 'yes' did their hands curl within a short time after surgery? Have you been in contact with the doctor who provided NA? What do they say? Etc...

It's important for us to hear about cases such as yours because it helps us to evaluate our own situations.

My hubby's family history with DC is that it returns shortly after surgery which is why we opted for NA then made no great expectations of long-term results. Luckily for hubby it has been almost three years and his left pinkie is only starting to curl again. We will probably make the trip to see Dr. Pess sometime within the next year, but at the moment the need is not pressing.

Good luck with your hands,
Anon

Recurrance

I misunderstood the topic. SUrgery on left hand last spring and one finger has started to curl. Not much so far. 5 degrees? But i am hoping for the best and am interested in the experience of others.

my background is 47. Some family history, but seems random. Not all family members get it. Hope no confusion caused.

Recurrance

Mark,
Just like most any other surgery, different people have different results. My finger, three years after surgery, is normal looking and functional the same as before DD. I went from 85 degrees contraction to 0 degrees and it has stayed the same.

Time Interval of Re-occurance after NA

I am pleased to report that 15 months have passed since Dr. Eaton straighted out my pinky with his masterful NA procedure. That little finger still stands at attention, straight as an arrow. That you Dr. Eaton. You are the best!

Re-occurance after NA

2 days ago, I received an email from a local doctor who has had NA performed in Europe, and by Dr Eaton. He says he will be training with Dr Pess, in June or July of 2005.

A major question...How is the contracture measured? I just know that the last joint of each pinkie is parallel to each palm...and that's obviously killed my ability as a typist! Can anyone fill me in more??

Many thanks!!

Doctor I mentioned below

I'm confused about your post. Is the new doctor that is going to be training with Dr. Pess a patient turned NA practitioner? or A surgeon who observed the technique in Paris and with Dr. Eaton? Is Dr. Pess going to be teaching the Paris-style NA on US soil?

Thanks for the clarification.

Doctor I mentioned below

He's an ER doctor, who had NA performed on him both in France, and by Dr Eaton. He is hoping to train with Dr Pess, and to offer it to us "out in the sticks", i.e. Boise, ID area.

Dr. Pess

I am curious who is this Doctor? I have seen postings saying he is in New Jersey. If that is the case that is close to the Boston area. I would be interested as it would save lots of travel money. I wanted to go to Florida for left hand in near future. The cost would be burden in the travel cost. New Jersey is close to my home. Any info on him would be wonderful.
