Dear No Name,

Ignore this poster and this thread. We are all pretty good at spotting the work of our troll and will handle such posts appropriately.

...and by the way....I think it is 'Linda' who is posting under your nickname to play head games with you and herself/himself...check out the grammatical errors - they are the same.

as a return to this site i see not much is going on and being able to use only one left hand i apologize for gramatical errors. im sure im not alone anyhow i have a hard time understanding all of the name stealingad troll hunting. to begin with i was just curious about what a person may or may not know about surgens leagle responsibilitys?? i guess getting off the beaten path that answer eludes everyone. or mayb no-one cares, i do but i am getting no where. the back at ya thing tono name is just a maybe poor way to defend myelf. and i guess it turned into (CAN'T YOU TAKE A JOKE) i was barely back looking at the osting before i got attacked. sorry for the mouthing back but i nd probably many have been throuh so many ndooable surgerys and promises only to be dashed and know having great health insurance is not always a blessing. I am quite hacked and sorry my sense of humor isn'tfitting into what doesnt seem to offer anything new or promissing. I do think f you need to protect your name that in itself is a big break in communication.
Good Luck And Sorry.

A lay persons opinion

Linda,

Legal liability regarding the outcome of any medical procedure is always a valid question/concern. When asking questions or discussing the issue - may I suggest using a less verbally aggressive approach - it might elicit more answers or support.

May I suggest you find out who the Dupuytrens Contracture experts are in your country then have one examine your hands? This second opinion may save you a lot of money in legal fees.

We are all frustrated with our hands, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how it all turns out.

Sign me,

Hi again Linda,

I'm glad you are feeling better. Now, can you answer some basic questions?

How old are you? When did you first notice your DC? Who was it diagnosed? Do you have family members with DC? If 'Yes' what is/was their DC like? How old were they when they got it? What was your curvature before your operation? Which hand(s)? Do you have nodules? etc....

In case you are feeling this is too personal, have a look through the forum, many people have given this info - basically it helps others to compare their situation with others so they can make an informed choice about treatment options - all you have to do is keep your location private.

Please feel free to ask questions, you probably have a million now that you have read through the website.

God bless.

Hi Again,

Yes I'm feeling better not much better with this keyboard, hard to believe five years ago I too a course in keyboarding. I have my right hand in a cast at the moment. Ihad skin grafting done a week ago friday. I am 50 sounds kind of old but I'm not feeling like I should feel as useless as I have been in the last one and half years.

I have been treated for arthritiis for atleast ten years having a mild contacture in right ring finger. I don't have arthritis but dupuytrens bi-lateral and my right foot opened the flood gates. I had a small noduele removed in my arch, it will be three years this Nov.

To cut through the chase my system went wild and my fingers pinky and ring went south almost right away my foot didn't heal now ave 7 noduels quite painful. 3 hand surgeries later I'm on dissability feeling like I wish I never had health insurance.

To cut through my being long winded my two brothers have it one is dead at 43, two years ago this June I nver knew he ad it I thought he kept injuring himself while drinking working on cars. The other brother is left handed and isn't talkig or dealing with it he is one year older than myself. Also found out my father had it with sucessful surgery 30 years ago. We wern't close at all, I wish I had looked into the internet before jumping into surgerys. My deceased brother lost two of his fingers to this disease. I'm so far that I know the only female in the family to have it I am the oldest sister I hope no-one else gets this.

Please tell me of you'r situation I know you must have stories I havn't heard and I would be honored if you don't mind sharing with me. I don't want to be intrusive I am concerned and you seem to be a genuine nice person, in spite of my not so nice lift off onto this site.

Sincerly,
Linda

Hi again Linda,

I'll use this nickname from now on; it seems a little softer.

Linda, you've been through a lot but you are not alone. There are many good people here on this forum willing to answer questions, share their experiences and argue over treament options. :-)

This website was set up by Biospecifics because they were/are studying Collegenase; an enzyme that would hopefully disolve some of the stuff growing on our cords thus making it possible to straighen our fingers. Now don't get your hopes up - the study has been a start and stop thing.

My best advice is to start reading the posts on this forum from about two years back. You will suffer information overload - but it will be worth it.

Make note of references to websites then check them out - don't jump to any conclusions till you have completed your reading - sometimes things get answered in other threads because people jump around.

As for my story, it has been posted a number of times in the threads but under a different nickname. Unfortunately there is a troll on our forum who likes to play games so at the moment, I am incognito - when you get to reading - you will understand. If you come across any nonsense, ignore it and carry on.

Good luck and feel free to ask questions.

Tinkerbell

Hi again so sorry you can't post under you'r prefered name. I guess I understand but it is sad a troll as you put it and I have noticed others complain of the same. That seems weird no wonder NO Name was upset. I'm still not sure they are not one and the same I just can't understnd stealing names when people all have similiar problems.
I did hear of the trials for Colliganaze (sp) sorry but it looks to be for mine and others children. I just don't think our country has dupuytrens as a priority not yet or maybe not for a long while.
I would like to ask what you or anyone might know about skin grafts. I was so scarred I just trusted another doctor to do that as I lost all the skin due to severe scarring. the last doctor very nice and all said he could help. I was left with no use of my hand. My new dotor from Boston seems genine and I will be happy with just a release in my palm. The feeling was like a hand full of cazy glue and razor blades. I know that sounds awful but that is what I think it would feel like.
Hope someone or you might have an idea I am beyond the NA thing, atleast for my right hand maybe the left as it is not touched.
Again thanks Tinkerbell (that is a cute name)
Linda
