ledderhose need specialist info about france

Hello

I am new to the forum. I have a ledderhose on the sole of the left foot. I am 42 years old and I am French South of the France. i have ledderhose only on left foot , nothing in hand. Nobody in my family have this sick. This disease makes me suffer for 3 years at least. I went to a Podiatrist that my factory a sole with a bowl in the foot for not pressing the nodule. The nodule is about 2 cm long and 1 cm wide and 0.5 cm review R.M.I.

Despite the sole I continued to suffer. During my work I am all day standing or I walk what you me suffer. Maybe change trade and find a profession more sedentary!!
Recently I am going to see an orthopedic surgeon who advised me an aponevrectomie: removal of the fascia with scar like zig zag. The surgeon assured me the great outcome of the operation. the treatment has the needle and cortisone, or radiotherapy is not great effective if i follow the advice of the surgeon.

After seeing on the forum that the surgery was not so effective and even empire disease.
The French forum site is information-poor. So i request maybe in english forum.
I enquired if person knows other specialists near montpellier (South france) or more far to have other opinions.

Re: ledderhose need specialist info about france

jerome30, I have ledderhose in both feet. When the growth first appeared in each foot it caused me pain but this did go away over time. The growths rub on my shoe when playing sport and for a long time this caused blisters but over time the skin has toughened and now I have no problems.

I did have surgery to remove the growth on my right foot but the it grew back within months. I am told that I am very lucky that I don't have pain from the scar tissue. Maybe I have no pain because the ledderhose has grown around the scar. My understanding is that surgery is not a good option for ledderhose as it can spread the disease and the scar can cause pain.

I cannot help with suggestions of a doctor in the South of France but if you can find your way to Paris I can recommend Dr Manet-Chopin. She is very knowledgeable about ledderhose.

Dr Manet-Chopin's email address is mariepascalemanetchopin@sfr.fr

Good luck.
