La Jolla Treatment Progress

Sorry I haven't kept everyone up to date on what has been happening with my RT that started on the 17th. Been having some internet issues here.
LubaM. and newman, I am happy to report that you were right, there was nothing to it!! I could feel some tingling sensation. The first night both feet felt warm to the touch. I assumed both feet would be done at once, but they did one foot at a time.
I am getting 2 Gy in 10 fractions for a total of 20. The MEv is 15 because of the depth of the lumps. They are using a bolus to control the depth of the radiation penetration. They are using .5 cm bolus on the right foot and a 1 cm bolus on the left foot. It appears that each foot is radiated for .81 minute.
I went in for 3rd RT today. Maybe it is wishful thinking right now, but it really seems the one on the left foot is getting somewhat softer and instead of feeling like a solid mass I seem to be able to feel individual nodules now. Tonight, after 3rd treatment I see some discoloration of the mass on the right foot. I am using the 20% urea cream as recommended, nightly.
My friend actually took a picture of the MRI of my feet. If anyone is interested in seeing them just let me know!
LubaM., this area is beautiful and I am throughly enjoying it thus far!! Weather is great and great places to eat!
More to come as I can access internet. 3 down, 7 to go!!!

Re: La Jolla Treatment Progress

Good to here from you .I can understand your apprehension and it does not matter what others say , The experience will put you at ease. I did experience the same heat as you mention. I remember running the cold water on my legs after a shower- a similiar sensation to being sunburnt. Keep us posted. Keep all the dose rates and the bolus info. for you own information. Regards from OZ.

Re: La Jolla Treatment Progress

Thanks newman for your response! It's good to know someone cares! I have to make a correction to treatment - I found out the radiation is for 75 seconds, not .81 minute! Just had my last treatment for this week, so get to enjoy beautiful San Diego this weekend!
