Confirmed Fibromas in the balls of my feet
I had radiation on my Ledderhose in 2011 in Germany and have had pain since that time when walking and mild aching when off my feet. I use a wheelchair at times and have had to really change my lifestyle.
I recently had an MRI done on both feet. The results confirmed plantar fibromas on both arches of my feet. But in addition the right foot showed multiple probably plantar fibromas in the “3rd and 4th metatarsophalangeal joints and numerous other similar nodular foci seen within the plantar subcutaneous fat of the forefoot…”. In other words probably fibromas in the balls of my right foot. I can definitely feel a spot between my 3 and 4 toes. I have pain in both feet about equally so fibromas only showing in my right foot seems strange. .
I am now trying to decide what next. The tenex procedure-I wonder about the long-term consequences of this. While not as invasive as surgery it seems like it would be fairly agitating. (My disease seems to become aggressive when messed with--I had surgery on my hand last year and have new nodules outside the surgical area already developing). My other options are cryosurgery but I haven’t really considered this strongly. I have mostly considered the hyaluronidase injection but I am wondering why more people don’t seem to pursue this?
I have seen an orthopedic surgeon and a podiatrist but honestly they didn't have much to offer, except surgery or orthotics.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Penny,
A while back I posted a question about the "hyaluronidase injections" and also got "0" responses. Which at least tells me that no one in the Forum has tried them. If so, I think they would say something either good or bad. It also tells me that no one may be familiar or very knowledgeable about the H injections, since again, no comments.
There is some brief language under treatments on this site that reads:
"Combination of triamcinolone with hyaluronidase
Occasionally triamcinolone is injected together with the enzyme hyaluronidase, which can dissolve scar tissue. While in the Internet this combination is claimed to be very effective so far no results have been published in generally accepted scientific journals."
To be honest since this is in the Podiatry field, I think it is safe to say that most podiatrist are not real versed with Ledderhose and how to treat it effectively. New things or unheard of treatments take time to be known with a disease as unpopular as Ledderhose, especially if it is not "getting published" in scientific journals.
When I first started looking into RT I thought it sounded too good or easy to be true or effective. And if it was so great a treatment, why did I have to go to the "Internet" to hear about it versus my doctor(s)?
All to say, I would not get discouraged by a lack of response. If there is a reputable podiatrist having great success with H. injections, why not try it?

Do you have other new info on the H injection or why are you now considering it? What type of doctor is recommending this? I have heard no one else mention this. Doctors are not knowledgeable. The 4 I have seen have only recommended surgery or cortisone type cream.

I had not heard of this injection before, but it certainly sounds like it would be worth a try. Cryo has always sounded interesting to me, but there are no doctors in my area using it for fibromas. I had the Tenex FAST procedure a few days ago. The area is still swollen, so I can't tell if it worked or not.
