Ledderhose, Peyronie's Disease and Xiaflex

I have read a lot of comments about the apparent success of Xiaflex in the treatment of Dupuytrens. It has also been pointed out that DD is a “cord” based issue, versus Ledderhose which is a “nodule” based issue.

Xiaflex is currently in phase two of FDA approval for Peyronies, which makes me think that Auxilium believes Xiaflex will be a successful treatment for Peyronies or otherwise they would not have gone to the expense of FDA approval.

Peyronie’s Disease appears to be a “plaque” based issue. According to the Auxilium Form 8-K filed with the SEC on October 10, 2007, both Peyronies and Ledderhose are “ectopic fibromatosis”. This makes me wonder if Ledderhose is more like Peyronies than DD.
