LD weird?

I have DD diagnosed in RH and will be receiving RT in a few weeks. Have had weird feelings in LH and both feet followed by multiple very tiny nodules. Doc and derm can't diagnose as they have trouble finding them (all this within the last week, so if DD/LD they are indeed very small). All bumps are in the joint areas and none in the palm or arch. When I push on them they move a bit. My concern is RT is indicated when nodules are small and obviously active. Experienced doctors said he was unsure of exactly where to radiate since he cannot feel them like I can. Can anyone relate to this presentation? Also, where can I find the guidelines for qualifying for LD treatment?

Thanks so much!!

Re: LD weird?

Hi you say you are having Rt in a few weeks! What area of the right hand?. It is certainly possible to have Dupuytrens in the joints of the hands without having cords in the palm. The problem is your medical practitioner may not know what to feel for. Prof. Seegenschmiedt explained in layman's terms . Imagine holding a peach in one hand and running the fingers over the surface of the flesh of the peach. It is quiet easy to identify any lumps or bumps just below the skin. So is it with the hand. Sometime it is not possible to identify any nodules oneself as the feeling is transferred from one hand to the other. Have your partner examine your hands marking out any lumps or bumps. You mentioned some weird feelings. In my experience I had some itching coming from within the tissue , so called funny feeling . The prof. indicated that type of reaction was an indicator that the disease was active and having identified any nodules was the time to treat with RT. I have some concern when you ask about the guidelines for the treatment. Have you spoken with the oncologist? The general protocol used by Prof . Seegenschmiedt for years if max of 30Gy. that is 5 treatments of 3 Gy. followed up to 12 week later with another 5 treatments of 3 Gy. but only to the area where the known disease is active.
Regards.
