Re: Physical Therapy

I too had plantar fibromas (two hard nodules the size of marbles) on the arch of my left foot...I had constant itching and burning and the nodules were getting larger.....I didn't do PT, but I tried cortisone injections into the nodules. Injections didn't help.

What helped was radiation therapy.... Its been ten months since RT and the nodules are much smaller, and much softer. The itching/burning is gone, I believe the RT has stopped the progression, so far.

I had RT on both hand and foot with Dr. Tripuraneni at Scripps Hospital in LaJolla, CA. Let me know if you need more information.

Re: Physical Therapy

Good morning
To address the nodules on both feet ( arches). the chiropractor uses the 'graston technique". He also showed me how to use the flat part of a spoon , with some cream to massage the nodules every other day. I have to be careful not to irritate the areas as it results in tenderness on both inner knees.

Re: Physical Therapy

Golf,

Can you explain more about the cause of knee tenderness from the nodules. I too have nodules on both arches and often have inner knee pain. I've always blamed it on a repaired torn meniscus on the left and a slight tear on the right.

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Physical Therapy

Update for everyone. I have been doing Physical Therapy 3 times a week for 2 weeks now on both feet. Ionphoresis on right foot where nodules are still not completely visible has been fine no pain during but no improvemnet. On the right foot they also have done the Ultrasonic waves that irritates it a lot with no improvment. Then the left with the nodule that sticks out Ionphoresis was a no go lowest seting and I wanted to shoot up off the table. So then we trid Ultasonic waves and that irritated it cried on the way home yesterday from PT. The PT wondered if water exercises would help me they also suggested stretching movements for me to do. And we noticed yesterday my left big toe the color of the nail was Opaque compared to the right big toe which as normal color anyone else have this as well ?? The left is messed up due to I hadnt found this sight before surgery. Just thought my info would help others. Thanks for sharing with me as well.....

Re: Physical Therapy

See my post above.....I really recommend RT for the nodules on your feet. I had RT 10 months ago on my left hand and left foot... and I'm happy with results so far.

Re: Physical Therapy

For Joe: re Knee problems related to feet.

The chiropractor just informed me that my aches are probably attributed to rheumatoidological issues.
