Re: Radiation after surgery in Germany

Wish you the very best with your treatment in Germany ! Also a Happy New Year 2011!
If you have decided to be treated by Prof. Seegenschmiedt you are a lucky person,
because he is - to my knowledge - the nicest an best informed physician in this field.
Please report on this forum about your treatment process ... Best regards, Larry !

Australia Calling, Hi Jery. In your post you say you had radiation for 5 weeks 5 days a week. What was the total GY. in the treatment. I have never heard of being treated for 5 weeks 5 days a week .

Hello Newman,

The total was 55 GY. Very small doses every day of 2 GY. I think the max was 60 GY for this but just not sure if can do more. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the Thai doctors theory, but they seem to know what they are doing. When I spoke with My doctor in America he said that there is just not alot of info on this. Everybody reacts differently. Gotta love that. At least they were willing to do the radiation here and it was covered by my insurance.

Re: Radiation after surgery ** Questions.

Hi Jery Australia Calling. Thanks for your reply. I can remember reading an article for the treatment of fibromotoses in the US that the treatment used 60 Gy. During a conversation with Prof. Seegenschmiedt he mentioned that in the US 60Gy had been used. I understood the Prof. was in the process to find the least amount of RT. that could be effective to contol Dupuytrens. Thanks again.
