Metformin and fibrosis
My father had DD and IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis). Researching (Googling) IPF and alternative treatments I came across this article on Metformin and it’s effect on lung fibrosis. Could Metformin help DD? DD is a form of fibrosis after all.

Edited to add this precedes the publication you quote, so maybe it was not followed up further, or I can’t quickly find the suggested follow up.
