YAG laser for knuckle pads

I am interested in YAG laser for knuckle pads and potentially dupuytrens. I have read the studies but am unable to locate a doctor in the United States who knows about this approach.

Steroid injections work well for my knuckle pads but only last around 9 months. I am also aware that there can be negative long term effects to steroids.

While my research indicates knuckle pad treatment to be cosmetic, mine stiffen my fingers and make typing difficult.

The YAG laser study I read indicated no reoccurrence for 3 years.

If anybody has information, please let me know.

Note : I had Dupuytrens surgery on my right hand from my thumb all the way up my index finger. It was mostly contracted. I am super happy with surgery, but my doctor only operate when a contracture is in place. I have small Dup. Nodules in various other places on my hands and I am not a big fan of waiting around for cords to develop which contract other fingers. While steroids work for my knuckle pads, they are ineffective for dup.

Re: YAG laser for knuckle pads

Hi
We only have one older post about someone using YAG laser for their DD see https://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_...-2_80_3.html#28

Since you don't like waiting around for cords or contracture maybe RT can be a consideration for you? I also think I saw a post on FB where RT has been used on garrods/knuckle pads with some inconsistent results.
Best wishes SB
