Re: Survey: One hand or two? Dominant hand?

I am right handed. Started with Dup contractures in my left hand over 14 years ago. I had a very successful surgery, developed subsequent nodules, but have so far not contracted. This was great, and having dups in my non dominant hand only caused me relatively minor impact.

However, about two years ago I developed nodules and contractures in my dominant right hand, including the MCP and PIP joints of my ring finger, and cords up into my middle finger. I had Xiaflex treatment this past March, and so far my hand is not recontracting, although my PIP was straightened to only 10 degrees from 35 degrees. I call the Xiaflex successful.

So, there you have it. Starting with the Dupuytrens roller coaster in my non dominant hand. Is anyone keeping any kind of statistics? ~ Diane

Re: Survey: One hand or two? Dominant hand?

I'm right handed and developed nodules in both hands simultaneously, about 2 years ago. Might have been triggered by my (former!) very bad habit of slamming both palms down on the counter for emphasis while having an angry tirade.
