Re: Turmeric for DC
Well, curcumin reduces tnf-alpha and tgf-beta1, both of which are responsible for Dupuytren's progression. Of course, it is necessary to see how much it reduces them in Dupuytren's nodules and how much it slows down the accumulation of lymphocytes and the multiplication of myofibroblasts in the diseased part. However, it is true that, compared to the past, the absorption of curcumin and its permanence in the blood have greatly increased in recent years (for example NOVASOL). Therefore, it is not surprising that in the past, even in the recent past, curcumin has served no purpose for Dupuytren. But maybe today it's not like that anymore! I would also like to try a transdermal cream based on curcumin incorporated in liposomes or nanosomes ... maybe it stops or reduces the progression of the disease!

Re: Turmeric for DC
Well I've had DC progressing for about 5 years 2019-2024. Changed diet and cut out alcohol completely 7 months ago and it stopped progressing. I had the needle procedure 3 weeks ago and while I have range of motion the fascia / burning pain to stretch etc... has been the worst it's ever been - likely aggravated by the procedure / healing. 72 hours ago I happened to purchase a tumeric / blackpepper liquid supplement since I run / muscle soreness (age 55.) 24 hours after taking the supplement I noticed all the burning in the hand fascia go away, 3 days later I noticed the hand is more flexible then my normal hand (and it's very flexible,) the remaining cord is softening with 0 pain when I push on it and most interesting is the yellow tint that's always been in the DC spots - bright when it's flamed up over the years...is completely the normal pink/white skin tone of the other hand. Doing a little research here are some new studies that show Curcumin doesn't just go after inflammation but targets joint contractures / fibroblasts, the PTEN methylation process - suppression (which I've read about before and linked to issues / fibroblasts in the liver and/or kidneys and a similar process to DC) It also links to an interesting study that discusses how curcumin reverses Liver and Kidney disease https://academic.oup.com/rb/article/6/5/...193?login=false https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article...%2C%20and%20HCC. I only stumbled on those tonight and this forum since the change was so dramatic it got my attention and I went to search since the Tumeric / blackpepper drink is the only thing that changed, I've been drinking it for 3 days and the change is still present.
