She can also buy the book:

Radiotherapy for Non-Malignant Disorders (Medical Radiology / Radiation Oncology) by Professor Seegenschmiedt or read his published papers. For her it is tax deductible.

Dosage and area of coverage are both important and novice doctor may err in both areas. I learned from my own experience in Germany and the USA that there are different type of x-ray machines and the ones in the USA are designed for deep body penetration to treat cancers whereas the one used by Professor Seegenschmiedt in Germany is design for treating non-malignant disorders and radiates much less deeply.

an information leaflet with a couple of LINKS on it, may be that'S USEFUL for some of you ...

Larry that list and the information is amazing. Thanks. I am going to save it for future additions.

Re: Has anyone compiled a packet of RT information I could share with my physician?

There is not a 7 day treatment but a 7 dose treatment over a 14 day period with a total radiation dose of 21 Gy. This alternative approach was first used by Professor Seegenschmiedt who was the first to experiment and study and in 2001 publish the results of the 7 x 3 Gy treatment compared to the 10 x 3 Gy treatment.

The 30 Gy treatment involves a 3 Gy dose every other day for a period of 10 days and then an interval to allow the body to heal and rid itself of the radiation(which it is able to do at these relatively small doses) before repeating the 5 sessions with 3 Gy of radiation. It is the treatment protocol that Prof. Seegenschmiedt recommends as it is perceived as being less likely to cause cancer 20 years later.

Whether this will be the case in terms of cancer risk and how significant the difference we will have to wait and see. For myself I took the more conservative approach and opted for the double series of five 3 Gy doses. The risk with either protocol is extremely low compared to the radiation of other parts of the body, including that commonly done with CT scans.
