what to do?
Im thinking about xiaflex to fix pinky with cord, then rt for nodules. ive read that rt is for nodules, xiaflex for cords is that right? I have both and want to fix both. they say to wait 2-3 months for healing. not sure if my dr. will agree, but its not her hand.

Re: what to do?
Xiaflex is not for cords but to make bent fingers straight again. Is your finger bent and if so, where and how much? If it is not bent yet then you are probably not a candidate for Xiaflex.

Re: what to do?
Xiaflex is injected directly into the cord to break down the collagen which is what the cord is made of. Most drs that are experienced with Xiaflex will not do this procedure until there is about 30* contracture. General procedure is the first visit is to inject Xiaflex into the cord in several places, then a 2nd visit the next day or within the week, you go back and have the cord snapped. I had the procedure on my left hand in July, 2014 and am very pleased with the results. I postponed surgery on that hand as I couldn't take 2 months off work for rehab, glad I waited. The key to Xiaflex is to find a dr who is experienced in this procedure and has successfully done many of them.

Re: what to do?
Also RT is not for nodules, but for early symptoms of active progression (of which nodules is just one aspect). I had RT and my nodules did not go away, but went softer over months, and the symptoms declined.
Although you post a single entry each time, get answers, you never come back until later, then a new thread and one off question again. I think an ongoing dialogue about your situation would be more helpful.
This was the one on RT: http://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_E...-rt-0_2087.html

Re: what to do?
I'M SORRY, THIS IS ALL SO CONFUSING. I'M TRYING TO UNDERSTAND ALL THE TREATMENTS AND WHAT OPTIONS I HAVE. I HAD SURGERY ON LEFT NON-DOM HAND IN JULY. RING AND PINKY FINGER WERE CONTRACTED, BETTER NOW BUT NOT PERFECT. RECOVERY HAS BEEN ROUGH TO SAY THE LEAST. AS I RECOVER FROM THAT I SIT AND WATCH MY RIGHT HAND GETTING WORSE BEFORE MY EYES. PINKY IS CONTRACTING, MIDDLE FINGER RAISING UP(DOES NOT LAY FLAT) CORD GOING TO RING FINGER AND ONE FROM THUMB. THICKENING OF FINGERS UNDER PIP, KNUCKLE PADS ON ALL FINGERS. SOME PAIN, TINGLING AND ITCHING. I GUESS WE'D CALL THAT ACTIVE STAGE. I'M SCARED AND LOOKING FOR ANY ADVISE I CAN GET. MOST HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS

Re: what to do?
It does sound like RT is a candidate for you if the hand can be held flat enough for the treatment? Or do you already have a contracture with the pinkie, and the doctor is willing to treat with Xiaflex? That would an appropriate next option if so. Otherwise consider and investigate RT, but try and choose a radiologist who is experienced with treating DD. I think you already have one suggestion http://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_E...-mo-0_2078.html
What has the doc diagnosed for the middle finger? That doesn't sound like typical DD. Maybe you have some other conditions going on with the hand.
If you cannot have a good discussion and consultation with your doctor, maybe get a second opinion? Advice offered over the internet like this is not really worth anything compared to a good consultation.
