Hi Australia Calling, Ive had many surgeries and experienced this sensation which I believe has the same sensation of carpal tiunnel syndrone. I did have the test and the recommendation was to wait . I took six month for the sensation to disappear. Exercise the hand with slow stretching and move the fingers like playing the piano. Swelling in the tissue after surgery reduces the blood flow. Australia Calling Hi John. The answer is yes to the loss of sensation. Mine was mainly in the index and thumb. I experienced this loss of feeling in the hand with the surgery . I recall the same thing happened when I had surgery in the other hand and I had the same electronic test and again it took 6 months to regain the sensation of feel. The result would have been a further operation for carpal tunnel syndrome.
I would certainly not rush in . I've had 15 surgeries including 4 grafts. Read up on the carpal tunnel syndrome and there are some simple tests you can do yourself. Check back on a recent post Wolfgang posted a download to a site on carpal tunnel syndrome. Regards.
