Post DC operation tingling
I am 54 and have had 4 or more DC surgeries. Just had left hand ring finger done 10/31/2008. It was bent at least 90 degrees. At about the 2 month mark I noticed tingling in the index, middle and ring fingers with a loss oF sensation in the finger tips. The hand surgeon has "determined" the problem is not in the hand and wants to have a nerve study done. The study is >=$1,300 I do not have. My question is has anyone else expierienced this and did it go away or what. Thanks, John

Re: Post DC operation tingling
Hi Australia Calling, Ive had many surgeries and experienced this sensation which I believe has the same sensation of carpal tiunnel syndrone. I did have the test and the recommendation was to wait . I took six month for the sensation to disappear. Exercise the hand with slow stretching and move the fingers like playing the piano. Swelling in the tissue after surgery reduces the blood flow. Regards

Re: Post DC operation tingling
Greetings Austrailia, Did you also have any loss of the sensation of touch in the affected finger tips? I also have a slight (can't feel a tissue against the finger tips) loss in the 3 finger tips. Thanks.

Re: Post DC operation tingling
Australia Calling Hi John. The answer is yes to the loss of sensation. Mine was mainly in the index and thumb. I experienced this loss of feeling in the hand with the surgery . I recall the same thing happened when I had surgery in the other hand and I had the same electronic test and again it took 6 months to regain the sensation of feel. The result would have been a further operation for carpal tunnel syndrome. I would certainly not rush in . I've had 15 surgeries including 4 grafts. Read up on the carpal tunnel syndrome and there are some simple tests you can do yourself. Check back on a recent post Wolfgang posted a download to a site on carpal tunnel syndrome. Regards.
