I find a brief mention of this on their web site but no details. Do you know more?

Gene News
Dr. Wicks; thank you for this pertinent news. We will all look forward to future developments. Identifying the gene is a major step toward "understnding" the condition and appropriate treatment. Go Corn Huskers!

Genetic Basis for Dup~sq~s
Well, apart from a couple of errors of fact in the Newswire report, that is really terrific news! It can be only a matter of time now until they nail it down to a single gene. It's even great news that the basis of the disease, or at least some variants of the disease, is so simple as to be attributable to a single gene.
But not all Dup's run in families. It may be that there is more than one genetic basis for it, as is true for cancers. And it may be a long time, if ever, until they can build upon the knowledge to create a therapy.

Where to find it
For those who prefer Google, search 'Center for Genomic Sciences' then click under 'Research' located at the top of the screen. It's article #8 called 'The Genetics of Dupuytren's Contracture.'

gene
Don't get too excited yet. The gene itself has not yet been discovered, only the area. Like looking for a needle in a haystack.
