2 weeks after Xiaflex
After two weeks since I had Xiaflex I still have swelling and tenderness on top of my hand and tenderness in my palm. How long for the swelling and tenderness to go away?
Thanks for any information since I don't see my doctor for another week and he doesn't tell me much.

Welcome to the forum tpwin
I have not had Xiaflex but others on here report that swelling and soreness is not uncommon up to two months after the injections. Sometimes longer! But also for some, often shorter. Hopefully others will chime in with some advice to help.
Best wishes

Re: 2 weeks after Xiaflex
I had Xiaflex and had heavy swelling of the hand for about 3 weeks, including bruising / hematoma. I guess there is nothing to do but to wait until the body cures that. If symptoms persist I would show them to the doctor and ask his advice.

Re: 2 weeks after Xiaflex
My fingers stayed swollen for months. I had the injection in my right hand, just below my ring finger. I usually wear a ring on that finger and I know it was several months before I could wear that ring again. I don't remember exactly how long it was tender, but I do know it seemed like it lasted much longer than it should.
I hope your injections were a success!

Re: 2 weeks after Xiaflex
How long do I wear the splint?
The PT person told me to wear it all the time but I thought my fingers would get too stiff so after the first few days I'm only wearing it at night since that's what the Xiaflex website states.

Re: 2 weeks after Xiaflex
Swelling for months is not exactly what I want to hear. I had Xiaflex for the first time 4 days ago. VERY painful following the injections and a cord snapped on its own before the follow up visit - I saw STARS when that happened. When I returned to the doctor to get the rest of the cords snapped, he numbed me up 3 times before attempting it. Fortunately, I didn't feel anything at that point. I have a break in the skin on the palm which is adding to the misery level. I'm a long time fan of NA (at least 15 procedures since 1999), but it was no longer appropriate or effective for a hand filled with surgery and NA scar tissue. I'm trying not to judge the Xiaflex at this point since right now I'd put it in the same category as open surgery - never again.
