Re: New here.
karenhart: I am in Pittsburgh Pa. There is an established clinic at Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee, and one at VCU in Richmond Virginia and one close to DC. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and fatigue would make travelling to these clinics very challenging. Where are you?
Hi Karenhart, I live in Atlanta GA. I was unsuccessful in my search for oncologist in my area. I ended up going to New Port Richie Florida (near Tampa) for my RT

Re: New here.
Creepy, crawly feelings are all a part of progressing DD, not necessarily before contraction, maybe cord development. At least that is what I am experiencing.

Valerie304,
Have you been diagnosed with Raynaud's Syndrome? It seems to sometimes develop with Dupuytren's.

Re: New here.
Hi Valerie,
Just throwing this out there to you, because what I have already learned in my short, almost a year now, of having this disease. Be as proactive as your time permits in researching what you intend to do or not do in regards to early treatment with RT. That is not to say that you should race out the door tomorrow for radiation therapy. It does, however, take some time to determine where you want to go, if you go. Though RT is not as well known here in the U.S., nevertheless, some of the finest University Hospitals, Institutions, etc. believe in this therapy and offer it. In my mind that helps to balance out ALL of the clueless orthopedic hand surgeons and podiatrist.
Do your homework now and you won't feel rushed in making a decision if your DD begins to take off, and you find yourself in even more pain.
And, never forget all the studies and experiential information indicates best results from RT when done in the early, active stage.
Hang in there! A lot of people have pain with this disease in early and/or active phase.

Re: Radiation therapy
I have completed the first round of RT and my nodes are no longer growing,in fact there is some shrinkage. My hand is definitely more flexible . So far so good! Karen

Re: New here.
That's certainly great news Karen! Keep us all posted on future, hopeful progress, or I guess I should regression.
Can you tell us all how long it was between when you first noticed nodules and were diagnosed with DD, and then began RT?
Thanks! Nan
