What is cost of RT?

I've just been diagnosed with DC. I have three visible nodules in my right palm, with minor contracture of my little finger. As a full-time quilter, embroiderer, and beader, I've already noticed how the stiffening in my ring finger and pinky affects my work. From what I've read so far, I'm thinking a proactive approach, seeking a RT provider, is a good idea for me. I live in Washington state and am on Medicare. My provider, as far as I can tell so far, does not cover RT for DC. My question is, without insurance, what can I expect for cost?

Also, does anybody have experience with the Tri-Cities Cancer Center in Kennewick, WA (the only RT facility in my state on the IDS list)? If I'm paying for it myself, I could stay with relatives in Minneapolis or Palo Alto, so I'm also interested in experiences with RT facilities in those two cities. Thanks for your help. I'm so glad to have found this site.

PS. Of course my diagnosing surgeon did not mention RT or Xiaflex as neither treatment involves surgery!

Re: What is cost of RT?

You should give Dr. James Pelton at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, WA a call to discuss options and pricing. That is where I have done my RT and he is great. He is starting to work directly with hand surgeons to bring awareness to R/T as a treatment option - and has been speaking at seminars around the Puget Sound.

Also, I had to call my insurance to get coverage information and they had RT listed as a covered preventive procedure for Dupuytrens. But I'm not sure what the cost would be if not covered by insurance.

Good luck - PM me if you have additional questions.

Re: What is cost of RT?

Check out this link forum search site for RT TREATMENT in the US.
http://www.dupuytren-online.info/radiotherapy_clinics.html

THE cost of RT varies from the number of treatments needed over time to be effective. U could also send a request to ur insurance coverage, ask what is needed to approve coverage for RT.

Totally hope u find a treatment near u with much success.
